Acne Solutions In Halifax
Active breakouts, adult/hormonal acne, clogged pores, scarring, dark marks and lingering redness.
Not sure which acne treatment you need? You don’t have to be.
Your skin is unique, and the right treatment depends on what’s actually happening with your skin. I’ll help you determine the best place to start.
NeoClear is one of my go-to treatments for active acne, but it isn’t the answer to every acne concern. Your personalized plan may also include microneedling, facials, peels, professional skincare, or a combination of treatments chosen specifically for your skin and your goals.
If you’re not sure where to begin, book a Fresh|Start. It’s designed to take the guesswork out of choosing a treatment. I’ll assess your skin, talk about your concerns and create a plan to help you move toward clearer, healthier-looking skin.

Q & A
1. Why am I suddenly getting acne as an adult?
Adult acne can happen for many reasons, including hormonal changes, stress, excess oil production, clogged pores, skincare products, medications and other individual factors. Because the cause is not always obvious, I look at your skin and what you are experiencing before recommending a treatment plan.
2. How do I know if my acne is hormonal?
Hormonal acne often appears around the chin, jawline and lower face and may flare at certain times of the month. It can also be deeper, more tender and persistent than occasional breakouts. However, not every breakout in these areas is hormonal, so an assessment can help determine what may be contributing to your acne.
3. Why do I keep getting breakouts in the same places?
Recurring breakouts can be related to clogged pores, oil production, inflammation, hormones, skincare habits or other triggers. Treating only the visible breakout may not address what is causing it to return, which is why I focus on an overall acne-management plan rather than individual pimples.
4. Can you help with clogged pores and blackheads even if I don't have severe acne?
Yes. Acne does not always mean inflamed or painful breakouts. Congestion, blackheads, whiteheads and persistently clogged pores can also be treated. Depending on your skin, your plan may include professional treatments, exfoliation and changes to your home skincare routine.
5. Can you treat the dark marks and redness left behind after acne?
Yes. Even after an active breakout has healed, it can leave behind dark marks, redness or uneven skin tone. These concerns are different from active acne and true acne scarring, so the treatment I recommend will depend on what remains after the breakout has settled.
6. What can be done about acne scars?
Acne scarring may improve with treatments such as microneedling and other skin-renewal treatments, depending on the type and depth of the scars. I normally want active acne reasonably controlled first so we can focus on improving the texture and appearance of the skin without continually creating new scars.
7. Do I need to know which acne treatment to book?
No. You do not need to decide whether you need NeoClear, microneedling, a peel, a facial or another treatment before coming in. Acne is different from person to person, so I first look at what your skin actually needs and then recommend the most appropriate approach.
8. How long does it take to get acne under control?
There is no single timeline because acne severity, skin type, triggers and treatment response vary from person to person. Acne management is usually a process rather than a one-time treatment. M goal is to improve active breakouts, support healthier skin and create a realistic plan for maintaining your results over time.
