"It’s the only laser that addresses ALL of the factors of acne"
Acne Treatment in Halifax

Acne can look different from one person to the next. You may be dealing with active breakouts, adult or hormonal acne, clogged pores, lingering redness, dark marks, acne scarring, or a combination of concerns. You do not need to know which treatment to book before you come in. I’ll look at what your skin is doing and recommend the approach that makes the most sense for you.
NeoClear by Aerolase is one of the main treatments I use for active acne. Depending on your skin and the type of acne you’re dealing with, I may recommend NeoClear on its own or as part of a broader plan that can also include facials, peels, skincare or other treatments.
NeoClear uses Aerolase Neo Elite laser technology to target several factors associated with active acne, including excess oil, inflammation and acne-causing bacteria. The treatment may also support collagen production, which can be helpful when acne has left changes in skin texture. Results and the number of treatments needed vary from person to person.
NeoClear is generally a comfortable treatment with little downtime for many clients. It can be a useful option for people looking for a non-invasive approach to active acne, but it is not the right choice for everyone. If your acne needs medical assessment or prescription treatment, I will recommend that you speak with a physician or dermatologist. NeoClear is an excellent option for clients that do not want to take prescription medications or are unable to. Plus, with increasing prescription costs, NeoClear is an excellent, cost-effective solution for clients’ acne problems.
NeoClear treatments typically take about 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated and the severity of the acne. Treatment can be used on the face or other areas of the body where acne is present, depending on your skin and suitability.
BEFORE & AFTER
HOW MANY TREATMENT SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
This can vary depending on the skin and the severity of the condition, but generally, 4 to 6 sessions are required to achieve a good result. After that, you may need maintenance every few months depending on your skin type.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT INTERVAL?
You should receive 1 treatment every one to two weeks.
Not sure where to start?
If you’re dealing with acne but aren’t sure whether NeoClear, a facial, microneedling, a peel or another approach is right for you, book the Fresh|Start Treatment. We’ll look at what your skin is doing, talk through your concerns and choose an appropriate treatment during the same appointment.

FAQ
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE AN IMPROVEMENT IN MY CONDITION?
The number of treatments as well as results vary from client to client. Commonly, improvement may be seen anywhere from 4–8 weeks if treatments are performed every 1 to 2 weeks depending on the severity of the condition and your skin’s reaction to the therapy. Some client's condition may worsen before it gets better.
IS IT PERMANENT, OR WILL MY ACNE COME BACK?
There is no cure for acne, only maintenance, so further treatment may be required in the future. This will vary client to client and some will have greater results than others depending on the severity of their acne, their skin type, and their daily maintenance.
WHAT CAN HELP WITH ACNE SCARRING?
Acne scarring is different from active acne, and the best treatment depends on the type of scarring, your skin and what you are hoping to improve. Depending on the individual, I may consider treatments such as microneedling, laser or another approach rather than recommending the same treatment for everyone.
IS IT PAINFUL?
No, there is just a mild, very tolerable sensation of heat. This is one of the key technical breakthroughs of Aerolase technology. The Neo Elite has set a new standard for virtually pain-free treatment, even
on darker skin types, thanks to MicroPulse-1064 technology.
CAN ACNE TREATMENTS BE USED ON DARKER SKIN TONES?
Yes, there are acne treatment options that can be appropriate for darker skin tones, but the right approach depends on your skin, the type of acne you are dealing with and whether concerns such as dark marks or pigmentation are also present. I choose the treatment based on the individual rather than using the same approach for everyone.
